ROM, flash recoveries, OTA updates, or modem files, these could all be done with the use of a software that could perform all these tasks in one place. This software is called Odin. Through this article, we will feature a guide that could be used by anyone who wishes to use Odin on Mac OS.
JOdin3 for Mac is designed to flash Samsung Android smartphones with stock firmware packages. Custom ROMs rarely do flash with Odin3 for macOS, as this software does not recognize.zip extensions, but only.tar files. Before installing a new firmware version, the device has to be rooted and a custom recovery has to be installed. Interestingly, JODin3 works with not just Mac but also with Windows and Linux OS, but since Odin does the wonderful job in Windows, we would suggest using JODin only on Mac OS X.
Back in the days, Odin was only available for Windows. Fortunately, with the contribution made by a talent from XDA Adam Outler, Odin was developed further to cater MAC OS as well. Hence and with that said, JOdin 3 was launched.
